Here is my question, I hope it makes sense!

My dad has taken the carb apart and has a question regarding the jets on it. He said there are brass jets (larger) and silver jets (smaller). In a diagram he has it shows that the brass are one side and the silver on the other side. Right now they criss cross though, so he is wondering if someone took it apart before. So, should the larger jets be on the high speed (secondary butterfly) side of the carb and the smaller jets on the accelerator side of the carb or vice versa? Does anyone know or could look at theirs and see how it is put together? Thank you in advance
