Carb issues

I've got an 85 rx7 with a 12a. I just bought a new holley 465 carb from RB. I had all kinds of trouble with the damn thing. 2nd daries not opening, leaks. But i now got it all about worked out. But im thinking now that the accel. pump is not right. Cause 1st and 2nd gear run fine. you shift into 3rd and it just starts to shutter and not run right till about 4,500 rpm. 4th and 5th do the same. Im just about done with the whole car cause ive had so many problems. any hints would be great.

If you have the stock fuel pump you are probably running out of fuel. Stock pump puts out about 3-4 psi and the holley needs 6 psi and more volume.

So the same power pull but with the secondary diaphragm disconnected (or prevented from opening). Here you should see the fuel flow is sufficient for the primaries alone. This should prove my theory.
