Question Carb/Fuel Problem

Okay, I have the floats set at the proper levels and there is both a new fuel filter and pump in the car but I am still starving for fuel. I have checked for leaks all round and repaired an intake gasket that I thought was causing the car to rev too high.

Now I am left shaking my head. There is no logical reason that I can think of for the carb to be starving for fuel and when I toss some gas in the carb the car starts fine but revs to about 4500 rpm for about 5 seconds then dies because of the lack of fuel.

Anybody have any idea what could be causing this. The bowls have plenty of fuel and the levels are pretty much dead nut center on the glass but I am getting absolutely nothing from the jets.

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

I still can't get *mine* working... your problem sounds similar, but mine will actually *run* at 4000rpm if I pull the choke out and hold it.... other than that it won't run at all. I've got fuel in the float bowl, and have fixed every vacuum leak I could find, and it still won't work.

Let us know what it is when you figure it out, it might help me out too! :P

Yep, the idle doesn't make any difference at this point. I can't keep the thing going long enough to try it. I did have it going long enough one day and the idle didn't seem to make much of a difference. I thought about clogged jets, but the jets are brand new so I dicounted that. I think I will try swapping them tonight though and see.

I will keep you posted and let you know what I find out. I'll tell ya one thing though, the jets are about the only thing that I haven't removed and replaced on the carb. I know that carb inside out now!
