To answer your question: Yes, it's low enough.... but... at stock sagging ride height in my car, I scrape on speedbumps around here.... YOU must have MAJOR scrapeage problems....

Do the front springs pop out when the car is raised up?

in my opinion.. i think anything lower would be ugly.. i love the way the tires are just at the fender.. that what i want with my car, but i odnt want to cut springs, and the only coil overs i can find are from ground control. i think im jsut going with eibach springs and tokico illuminas, and how ever low that is, is what ill get. i do like that look though, and im sure it feels like driving a go cart. also, how bad does it scrape? im sure alot

Wheel spacers are DANGEROUS. They can cause a vibrating harmonic that throws your wheel out of balance or worse, and are to be used on trailer-queen show cars only.

i diagree, i know alot of racers that use wheel spacers!with no problems i might add, Ari Yallon for one- if you look at pictores of his car the front wheels are spaced out 1 inch to clear the rotors! he goes low 10's ... a ton of guys are using spacers on supras to clear the huge brake calipers they have...front and rear! how are they unsafe?as long as your wheel studs are long enough there shouldn't be a problem.. just get the ones for your application and you will be fine..

I agree, as long as you are using these that are designed for your application you should be fine, I wouldn't think you would want them slotted or to fit loosely over the center hub, that would throw off the balance and that would be bad. And you would definitely need to switch out your studs for longer higher strength ones. Like anything else, if you do a half-*** job it could possibly be unsafe, but if done correctly it is fine.

Same thing with cutting springs, when you do this, you will lower the car, stiffen the spring rate, change the geometry, and potentially make it so that the shocks will bottom out. How much different is that than buying lowering springs or coilover kits? Like anything else you need to take this into consideration. You may possibly need to put in caster/camber plates, and put in bumpers in to reduce suspension travel. This is just my 2 cents.

------------------------------------------------------------------------style wheels are ugly and if you find some that do look good they don't make them in the 115 mm.

Team Dynamics makes some real nice rims, and they drill them out to spec. I ordered my rims from washingtontire.com in L.A. and they send me a perfect fit. Here is a helpful link.

Manntis is right, wheel spacers were always an uncertain element. Would never use them...

Anyway, what is it that you have to get so that your shocks wouldnt bottom out when cornering at a track, or when doing some drifting or whatever?! I know mazdaspeed sells them, but i cant think of the name off hand. And what the hells a watts linkage?! And what happends when it binds on you?!

You can cut springs, as long as they are the "dead" coils. Ground Control makes these that are cutable. The bottom 3-4 coils are tight against each other and can be cut.

As for the watts-link, it wont work right without major mods. You need to got to a Tri-link rear end with a panhard bar. Check out http://www.gforceengineering.net/
This guy is the guru of the 1st gen suspension!!! I used his set up in my car, it is the only way to correctly lower and keep the correct geometry of the susp.

1st7Heaven: that car in avatar looks just as low.

What kind of springs are you using.

Im getting a set of those adjustable watts linkage from 680.
When I get it installed Il let everyone know how they affect handeling.
The watts is easy to take off, so ill do a before and after test with the car at that ride height.

my cars going to look sick.

Don't you mean 110 mm?
And I don't like the looks of most of the newer wheels myself. "Chrome ceiling fan" is an apt description. -WG
