can't reach radiator hose clamp to tighten.

Hi i am installing new flexible radiator hoses because mine are really old and cracked. I am using new clamps not those old ones the 79 came with but when working on the lower radiator hose the left side i do not have enough room to tighten the clamp the exhaust box and air pump is in the way. Am i missing something on how to reach it thanks for the help.

Mazda put the clamps on in a certain orientation so that it can be tightened.

i'm too lazy to post pics, but the screw should be on the bottom, facing up

Yes but the old clamps had longer screws so it was easier to tighten these new silver ones i can't put them in a position to get a screwdriver in

Flip the clamp around? There is ridiculous amounts of room around the hoses :S

Or get a 5/16" nut driver and a lot of extensions maybe with a universal joint or two. 1/4 drive, of course.

Ah who am I kidding? Get yourself a JDM screwdriver. It's what you need on a car like this.

There is tons of room on all of them but the lower left radiator hose that is the only one i am having problems with. I tried both sides no room on each side.
