Question Cant fit 6 1/2" components in the kickpanels..

Bought a component Pioneer 6.5" system for Audry. Made new kickpanels to compensate for the lower placement and larger size. Got to cutting and there is just too much metal back there. I think I found the outside of the car wall but not sure. I've seen 6.5" mounted down there before. What did you do to mount them?????? PICS PLEASE!!!!

Can only mount 5 1/4" in the kick panel, maybe on the passenger side, but deffinetly not on the drivers side. You can make some door pods to fit your 6 1/2" units.

I mounted 5 1/4s in doors, and then my 6 1/2 components on the bin doors. Works good and sounds pretty good too.

anyone have any 5 1/4" (preferably midranges) that will trade for unused, new pioneer 6 1/2" midranges? Half my component system is already installed.

The reason I used 5 1/4 is because the 6 1/2 wouldnt fit where I wanted it and also the window crank would have hit the speaker. if you have power windows (or convert) you can fit a 6 1/2 no problem.

are you talking about putting the 6 1/2" in the doors? I'm trying to put them in the kickpanels... I dont want them in the doors.

Oh, sorry. Yeah you can fit an extremely shallow 6 1/2 in the kick panels. I am calling the kick panels the same place that the stock 4 inch speakers are located. You will lose your foot rest on the drivers side though, and may need to relocate your hood opener.

Why not just get some 4" and dont worry about it.

Thats what I did and I love them! Just had to turn my hood release sideways.

problem is, I already purchased a 6.5" component set. I currently have a 12" sub in a 2X2.5' bandpass box centered between two pioneer 5way 6x9's. I just want more sound coming from the front than my puiny 4". I'm gonna find some 5.25". I alrady have a paritial hole cut on the drivers side..
