I think it is a canister full of carbon involved in the containment of volitile compounds from the carb and gas tank. Like gas fuemes from the gas tank.

Correct. Known as the Charcoal Canister.
BTW, they get clogged sometimes.
A little compressed air in the correct (one way) port and it's as good as new.

 

i notice my charcoal canister's one hole is plugged with cork, and has a TINY hole in the cork?????

 

Don't lie to the poor guy. That's your flux capacitor bud. Keep it hooked up, it doesn't do much for low end power but it does wonders for the top end. Once you hit 88MPH you'll see some serious ****...



Throw it. Throw it as FAR as you can.

 

does it actually hurt anything? can you remove it without anything ******* up? do you just plug up the lines?
