However, on the rear of the Red car, it looks like a Mariah hatch.

How about a pic of your car David?

Sorry for assisting the threadjack sh1nj0.

I think David was talking about steve84GS TII's car.

...and the Mariah hatch is slightly different:

Notice how the corners are curved instead of square like the red car. The rear glass looks different too.

Hello this is Alexs brother. And he told me to respond to all the posts with a little black dot. He is in the hospital now something happened to his leg that was messed up. He should be out in about 2-3 weeks and says he is sorry that he cant answer anymore posts. Helpful or not they may be. Thanks for listening

it's funny...I knew I posted a pic of my car not too long ago, so I go look for it to copy the url...I find it, then I notice all the same pictures on that thread that are on this one. I guess we all love posting pics of our rides

I think you are correct, but I believe the person David was answering, was asking about the previous red car, the car you posted, (and also in my avitar).
Thanks for the pic of the Mariah hatch, so the entire body kit on the "previous red car" may be ARF.

I was talking about this one. Sorry if I confused anyone. I'm pretty sure this is Mariah. I'd bet a jug of MMO on it !

Yep,its Mariah,but with some tweeks.
The side skirts are old Mazdatrix/WingsWest units that had the spats cut off, then were blended into the fenders. The cut in the front of the skirts allows easy front fender removal.
The rear bumper skirt is of the same name and was cut back to act as a lower bumper cover, but still be removable. It cleans up the rear of the car and the license plate area, but no longer extends all the way to the rear fenderwells. This is better in case I have to pull the rear bumper,or if I get hit,the skirt is not part of the permanent rear quarter panels.
The wing is also Mariah, although its very rare. They hadent made one in many years since they were banned in GTO after only a year back in the 80s(they worked too good!) I talked them into making me one,and they farmed it out to an outside glass guy because they hadent laid one out in so long...

Advan RG's, special ordered from Japan.Only 11lbs each, high quality 1 piece race/street rims.White or gold only....sucks, but white grew on me.
17X8 and 17X9
Offsets were a comprimise because RG's dont have much lip,so I had to use spacers to push them out, which didnt really hurt anything since the wheels are very deep on the inside.2 years and no issues.
GSL-SE pattern (4X114.3MM)
225/245 35series 17" Falken FK451.

Hey Steve
I love all the work that you have done to your car even though I am not 100% fan of it. I do greatly appreciate all the work that went into making it, but my question is have you ever thought about a black set of rims with a polished lip or something along those line? The white rims are great but they stand out or don't really flow with the rest of your color scheme IMO.

I have seen how much you love your car from other post you have made so please don't be offended I just wanted to know what made you choose white versus another color.

Like the previous post stated, the Advans only came in white or gold.Ive never been a fan of gold wheels.I like dark gray and black wheels even less. After the final paint and trim,I looked the car over and decided there wasnt any reason to have any bright alloy on the car since its pretty monochramatic and devoid of chrome.I like shiney wheels, but it didnt seem right in this case.Silver was my initial decision, but I hadent REALLY yet researched the availibility for my application.
As it turned out,I didnt have much choice in the wheel department since I needed crazy offsets and widths for my widebody and Australian made brakes. There just arent that many wheel makers out there that offer wide widths and diameters in 4 lug.Usually when you go that wide, your talking 5 lug cars like Supra,FD,3000GT,300ZX.......
The Advans were the right size and the right price(compared to some 3-piece wheels that can be custom made to any widths/offsets....big$$$$$)
I had to conceed on the color since Advan(actually a division of Yokohama) is in Japan and I had to have my wheels special ordered so it required a Japanese speaking person to place the order to the factory.Typically, wheel companies will ship out bulk orders to the US containing sizes they know will sell, like 17X7 in Honda lug patterns, and such.Theyll go through dozens of sets of those. But how often do you sell 17X9's with 28MM offset in 4 lug?!
It was so much hassel I wasnt even going to fight over the color selection. If I ever tire of the white,Ill have them powdercoated in silver. But I probably wont since Ive grown to like them, and the white keeps me cleaning them constantly, which isnt neccesarily a bad thing.
The way I see it,Im happy with the final result, and enough people at Seven Stock 8 liked it that I took 1st place.Thats the ultimate compliment in my book since the event is just for rotary fans and the carshow was judged by the people.I dont mind any critizism at all,Im very laid back and open to new ideas, especially when it comes to modding RX-7's.
I know my style with this car isnt to everyones tastes, and I admit,I do still enjoy the simple factory lines of a stock 1st gen.Its just that this car build had spiraled into a monster over the last 4-5 years with the massive infusions of power and chassis upgrades over stock.I felt the body and look should also reflect that.In other words,it was no longer a sleeper or a casual car project.

We got the springs overnighted in from Japan. We are waiting on some JDM lower control arms to come in to fix the camber problem.

P.S. This is Max7 car I'm helping him with it.

I agree 100% IMO, I dont think the wheels fit the car, they need a 3pc wheel with a lip. Either Kodiaks, Epsilons, CCW or something like that. Carl
