can i stock 12A 83 rx7 with K&N and header, to straight pipe to free flowing muffler, beat a stock like maybe 85 volkswagen golf, with header/exhaust? cause i saw this crappy looking brown one near my house thati know the guy and all it has is exhaust and rims, but he was like reving in neutral and it sounded pretty fast... i could be just tripping, but could i beat it you think?

 

probably. is more that a yes that a no. i use to have a 85 gsl automatic an i raced a 93 (i think) golf gti and i beat him bad. and mine had k&n drop in filter and a 2.25 inch pipe after the cats with a dinomax ultraflo muffler, everything else was stock, but is all in the skill. if you have skill you beat him.

 

those are 16 valve.... pretty fast but you will smoke himm!!!! leave first , thats what i do, works great!

One of my best friends has a 85 golf 16vavle it has starit pipe and is loud..not fast. my winter rat just barly gets beat by it(93 satern sl1) so your lookin at a car with 100hp maby...take him in a starit line b.c the gold will turn better..gl

Rev out each gear and by the time you hit 100km/h (62mph) You'll have him by a few good lengths. Should be able to beat him pretty easily if you have good gear changes.
