caliper mounting bracket?

So I just finished putting the front end together after replacing all the bushings, hub/rotor assembly, shocks, springs and calipers. My question is that on the passenger side the caliper mounting bracket is rubbing on the rotor a little, but its not on the drivers side. Is there supposed to be a shim there or anything? Has anyone else had this problem? The car is a 1980 SA.

It should not rub. There are no spacers/shims. Make sure that the wheel bearings are fully seated into place (I suspect you replaced them). Also check the grease seal to make sure it is seated fully in the back of the rotor.

I had this problem as I put a grease seal on the spindle for safe keeping, I then forgot about that and tried to put on a fully assembled rotor (w/ grease seal). It would go on, but the rotor would rub. I was like "What the hell?". Then I said.."Now where did I put that other seal..d'oh!" Pulled it back off and everything was golden.

I agree with Addict on that one, check to see if everything is seated properly.

Is it the bracket, or the bolts that are rubbing? I made a mistake and used the bolts that hold the backplate on when I mounted the bracket. They are slightly longer, and interfered with the rotor.

No, I'm sure its not the bolts its definatley the mount. I actually didn't replace the bearings, I pulled them out cleaned them up, inspected them and they were in great shape so I just repacked them and re-used them. It may be though that something isn't seated properly so I guess I'll have to pull it back out again and check everything out. Thanks.
