A/C and idling problems

Im having problems with my car idling when the AC is on. Hard to start when the AC is on also. What do I need to do to fix this? 12A motor Thanks all.

it takes a lot of power to run the a/c compressor and the stock 12A doesnt have that much power to start with....turn the a/c off when you start it your battery will last longer...try adjusting the idle speed & mixture screws to see if it will idle better.

aftermarket alternator

what kind of alternator is everyone using for an upgrade? where? this will come in handy for my future stereo install too.

the common swap is an alternator from a second gen rx7, specifically the later ones (89-91) as its got 80 amps. I have a thread about it in the archives. Its an easy swap. Mines been in for at least a year and works awesome. As for the A/C, don't have it on when you start the car, give it a minute before you load it like that. When you turn the A/c on the rpms should drop then go back up a moment later as the A/C idle compensator thing on the carb kicks in, maybe yours is borken, or adjusted wrong, not sure how to adjust it though. hope that helps

try adjusting the ac idle comp screw.
