Buying spare engine parts.
Wanted to get an opinion or two here. I've got an 85 se. Working on cleaning it up and doing the usual maintentance and I hope to daily drive it this summer. It'll probably be a long term project of enjoying it during the spring summer and fall and then packing it up and getting some work done on it over the winter.
Car has about 115k miles. Runs well aside from some idle issue which I'm addressing.
Anyway, I found a guy selling a set of rotors and housings from a gsl-se. Should I scoop these up and put them away in the event that I need them some day? Maybe I'm being paranoid.
If I didn't buy these and the day comes when I'm doing a rebuild would I be able to use a 2nd gen motor for parts.
At first I was all about stocking up on some spare parts but now I'm starting to think that I'll just hold off. Thought I'd see if you guys have any thoughts. Thanks.

Dont worry about the -SE parts unless you just have to have them. I have an 88 GTU 2nd gen engine in my car now, and it wasn't that hard, and is almost identical to the -SE engine. Don't be paranoid guy, just treat it right, and if you really want to, source a nice 2ndgen engine.(Get a turbo II...) Did I say that out loud?...
