Buying advice, used 13b

hey guys, there is a 13b turbo II motor for sale near me.

Mazda rx7 turboll motor

I'm interested in swapping it into my 83 GSL and removing my 12a, but I dont want to get in over my head. I've read the swap guides that i can find, but is there anything about that deal that throws off any red flags for you much more experienced rotor people? What about the price? Is replacing the bearing likely the only thing it needs or will / should i do more while its apart?

The rotor bearings are probably fine. They are last in line to receive oil and a little copper showing is ok. Post pics ones you get them.

only pics i have are on the craigslist link, i can ask him for specifics if you guys need to see something that isnt pictured there.

Owner texted back:
pulled out to rebuild it, lost interest.
rotors good, no throttle body, 87 S4 engine, carbon built only the housing (?), no ecu, has harness, transmission, turbo manifold, and no injectors.

also offered to sell me a running S5 series motor trans and ecu for $2100

I wouldn't buy a running engine. Just cause you're gonna have to halfway take it apart to put it in your car ie front cover.

Are you going fuel injected or carbed? If carbed you only need the core motor. That turbo manifold pictured won't fit in your car. The idle shut off flapper needs to be removed.

Honestly its a bit pricy, but I've seen more expensive.

honestly i havent thought about doing anything other than a swap. I'll research carb'd turbo motors, it does sound intriguing. i'll hunt around on the forum and see some options, honestly i wasnt quite ready to swap but that ad popped up and its tempting...
