i am buying an 84 GS off a friend and need some help on it. first off it doens't run. it hasn't for over 2 years. he was driving it one night and blew a coolant hose. i don't think he cooked the motor though. he said he had a compression check done and it was fine(that was years agot hough and it has just sat since then. he said when it first happened that he went over the whole thing but couldn't figure it out. it gets fuel spark turns over everything. it just won't catch. i will be picking it up pretty soon and just need to know if anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong. i will be doing a compression check again. anything else i should check too? it has been setting for 2.5 years. give me some ideas this is a great car for a great price but i have only dealt with FD's this is pretty new to me.

 

I would check each of the coils, change the gas and the spark plugs. It sounds like it was flooded. When you turn it over does it act as if there is compression or does it just spin?
