Busted Gear shift selector
Pulled out of my driveway on my way to work and shifted to 2nd and snapped off the lower portion of my gear shift selector. Coasted to a stop in a neighbors driveway and then towed it home the next morning.
Opened it up and found what I knew had busted, bad weld.
I purchased this short throw selector and pivot adapter from a forum member about 4 years ago, I thought is was drilled and then welded in place....found out it was butt welded, badly at that, cleaned it up, put a camfered edge on it and then welded it right. With the some grinding to shape it into a nice cone for clearance this puppy ain't gonna ever break again.
Total time from removal to test drive, 45min.
Works great now, glad it didn't happen at a drift event!
