Bundle of carb questions...

So Im in the middle of simplifying the ol nikki, and Im prety much done but there are a few things I want to ask about.

First off, I am planning to convert to mechanical secondaries, and as well do the AP mod. The two questions that I had about this were:

How long should I extend the AP arm. I believe Sterling said 1 1/4" from the original hole, but that seems rather long to me. I plan to drill sevral holes for adjustment, but what is the best starting length. This picture shows my question better.

Also, when I make up the spacers for the AP body, the gasket material to use is 1/32" gasket?? Sterling says to add 3 layers to either side of the AP diaphragm, he doesnt say how thick the material is though. This would translate to around 3/32" on either side of the diaphragm?? I cant imagine any thicker gaskets would be used...?

Also, as you can see Ive prety much stripped this carb down to the essentials.
On my '85 carb, there is a connector on the side of carb opposite the fuel inlet:

It however, is not present on my '83 carb.

What does it do, and do I need to connect it even if my carb is stripped down to nothing?? Why doesnt the '83 carb have it??

aaand, where should I attach the nipple on the air vent solenoid to? Right now it is capped off, is that ok????

And my final questions are:
I plan to run a line w/ a PCV valve from the oil filler neck. Is this port on the manifold alright to use????

Also, As long as the filler neck can be hooked up to the manifold, the only other thing that needs a vacuum reference is the vacuum advance pots right??
I remember hearing somewhere that certain vacuum nipples get better vacuum. Is this where I should hook up the vacuum advance to?

Thanks!!!!!

I hooked mine up there yes,I used a tee fitting and ran the two advance ones into it and then to that very nippleand that one sensor that is not on the 83 is just in a different spot on it, that is the richer solonoid and I just left that wiring in the harness to use it because I wasnt shure if I should go without it due to what it does,I "THINK" it senses either airflow or fuel ratio because of the name,Im really not shure though.

Bump...

I decided I'll number the remaining questions so they are easier to answer...

#1- How long do I extend the AP arm for the mod?

#2- Do I use 1/32" gasket material on the AP body for the mod?

#3- Do I need to hook up the richer solenoid on the '85?

#4- Should the nipple on the air vent solenoid be capped? If not where should I run it to?

#5- Is the port on the manifold OK to use for "crankcase ventilation"?

I would give that vac port a try,but isnt that the one that goes to the brake booster? I did something completly different,I used the vent and check valve(purge valve) still with mine it is a small black vac diaphram that has 3 hoses going to it,one goes to the gas tank(fitting going to firewall) wich is on the bottom of the diaphram, the other on the bottom of it goes to the oil filler neck for ventilation but the one on the top goes to the 3rd vacuum nipple from the right going left on the carb spacer,so its going from right to left counting the first as 1 then its the 3rd in. The air vent solonoind just cap off and I dont think you really need the richer solonoid.
