Bridgeport Exhast

Hi all..
I've got a series 1 and about to get my 12a reconditioned and bridgeported I was wondering what exhast options i had.

I've spoken to a few people about building a custom tuned length system 'redline rotary' in Brookvale (anybody used them?) and was quote in the area of $1600.. [cough] great looking exhast but a bit pricey.

Is the racing beat streetport exhast worth looking at? the pictures show quite small pipes and im a bit weary about the collector at the end of the tuned pipes being too restrictive.

Isnt there anyone who can make a good exhast without putting a huge pricetag on there welding experince?

Thanks.

$1600 australian is like 600-700US bucks? I don't know. If so, thats the same as Racing Beat not including shippy and handling. I made my own long tube equal length header and collects to 2-1/2inch pipe. Best and most important addition to the bridgeport I have. Now the muffler is another story

$1600 is way too much. Just shop around a bit. You should be able get a good custom made mandrel bent system with long primaries and stainless packed mufflers for about a grand.

i dissagree, my fully tuned length exhaust cost 900bux in materials alone!!. When you see how much work went into it, 1500 is cheap!!!

it is all stainless including the custom made mufflers, that are all straight through, but still manage to keep the noise down without choking its performance.

of course getting the same system in mild steel would save abit as would using lesser quality mufflers

heres a pic of my headers

stainless = Cha ching!

I'd just use some nice, mandrel-bent thick-walled steel....

a little less quality, but for the price difference, I think it'd be worth it.

Why pay so much just for the factor of stainless?

Maybe the prices are a bit higher down south. But, here in Brisbane you can get mandrel bent systems with thick wall steel and quality hand made mufflers from any number of shops for about a bit over $1000. That includes flanges as well.
