"Brand New" 1973 Engine On Ebay...
I dont know how legit this is, but its only at $500 with 1 day to go, and it looks damn good. It almost actually looks like a brand new engine. Just thought some of you might like to see it.

EDIT: I forgot to mention this is the one with the dual dizzys and everything. Looks kinda cool .

Hmm.
A "brand new" engine, which is supposed to be "New old stock" that already has oil filter, carbuerator, exhaust collector, etc......?
See.....if it was brand new, and sitting in the back of some Mazda shop, it wouldn't have all the extra parts installed. They would yank all the external parts from your original engine, and install them on the new block.
This is just someone with a nice cleaning method.
But then again, 2 years ago, I sold a used block to a Honda S2000 on Ebay. I cleaned it up a bit, but it was still pretty grimy looking. When I took the digital pics, the thing looked brand new.

Already seen it, found it doing a search on "rx3." Definately would have to change that front cover. Found a Mikuni carb and intake on there too, the guy has a reserve on it and the bid is only up to $90. Here's the link:

I've got some RX-2 stuff kicking around here and this engine on eBay looks legit. Heh, and to think I was actually thinking about trying to sell my RX-2 stuff on eBay. There's no major demand for any of it. I'd do better to upgrade mine with newer 3mm apex seal rotors and a light flywheel instead of the heavy REPU-ish flywheel and rotors these engines came stock with. Well, that decision's been made now. Whew. Though that engine on eBay does give me a special feeling. Must... resist... urges...

just where are you seeing the beehive oil cooler?
I looked all over those pics, and thats just a old pedistal. (i think) in one of the pics you can see the two oil lines out in front, taped together ready to be attached to a air/oil cooler.

Man it shot up! $1,525.00 for a new old stock twin dizzy engine is still probably worth the money. Those parts simply don't exist in Mazda's part bins anymore (as far as I know).
If I had a '73 RX-2 or 3 that I was restoring, then I would seriously consider getting this engine. But as it is, mine already has several upgrades from various years that make it the best of both worlds; old school styling, with newer technology inside and out. Why just today I cleaned the last batch of parts to get it ready to rebuild. Unless something else comes to mind, I'm finally done. I've got a 4 port 13B to teardown and rebuild first, but then I'll get to the '73 engine.
Heh, j9fd3s has sort of followed my various posts across several forums of my 12a's status. Since this thread is about some eBay guy's stock '73 engine, I'll post my latest '73 engine stuff in a different thread (probably tomorrow, probably at mazspeed in my old post, or not. Hmm...).
Well chester24, good luck with that 12A! Oh, and please don't modify your RX-7's bellhousing. Sheesh!
