Brake rotors for -SE
Brake rotors for -SE
What does everyone use for brake rotors for the GSL-SE's? I need something pretty good quality since it is being built for AutoX. Mazda no longer carries factory replacements, so my Mazda Motorsports discount won't help me. And I can't find Brembo rotors listed for the 13B application.
Thanks,
Joe

You should be able to find some aftermarket replacements at your local parts house, as these were produced and not all models will use the vented rears. If you really want to upgrade to nice parts, there are some aftermarket (Brembo, KVR) replacements that are cross-drilled that aren't too expensive to get into.
I think my full set of 4 KVR cross-drilled rotors was about $450 with shipping, which isn't too bad. This was with an additional $20 per rotor for cadmium plating, which I think is definitely worth it for looks (no rust). With the wheels that I have, the disks show through very well and the whole package looks 'machined'.
If you're looking for stock replacements, I'd check at the Mazda dealership parts department too, since this car is 20 years old and they may have some sitting in a warehouse somewhere that they'd like to get rid of pretty cheap. Good luck,

Checked with Mazda Motorsports(Factory support for people who race Mazdas) and they no longer carry any of the -SE rotors. Where did you find your KVR's? Do they make a non-cross drilled set? Know of any places that carry the Brembos?
I bought my KVR's from Pure Performance: http://www.pureperf.com/
Search around there, and I'll bet that you can buy just the blanks for a pretty good price. They can also cadmium plate them for the above stated appearance reasons. HTH,

If your just gona auto X stock rotors will do fine you will never get going fast enough to need any thing too crazy. I just have braided stainless lines, super blue fluid & a rear bias controller and its over kill for chasing cones Good luck

Exactly. Plus my class doesn't allow cross-drilling or slotting. I'm looking for what brands people prefer and where they buy them. I don't want to slap some cheap AutoZone specials on there just for my Hawk pads to destroy them.
doesnt tirerack sell brembo replacments? or maybe www.rx7.com?
p.s. i saw rachel at bluegrass motorsports today.
