Brake mods
Has anubody been able to get newer brakes from lets say a last gen 300z, as an example, to fit.
Basically looking for an upgrade to something newer out there.

No, it is not stock!

You will not likely find any factory stock brake that is better than the 2nd gen RX-7 4 piston aluminum calipers. Any 2nd gen car with 5 bolt hubs, and some 4 bolt, use these calipers. They are certainly adequate for anything you will do with a 1st gen car. The best thing to do is the full conversion to the 5 bolt pattern, which gives you lots of wheel options. However, there are many issues to consider. There have been many posts discussing this, including the current one:

one option is to use 13" corvette brakes
get your stock 1 peice hub/rotor on a brake laith and cut the rotor setion off, but it back on the car, and get the vette rotor drilled for your bolt pattern, slide it over your rotor-less hub and make a bracket out of 1/4" plate minimum to hold the caliper, get a brass fitting to adapt the different threads for the brake line, and now you have a cheap amazing brake setup.
keep in mind you need big wheels to fit the brakes, and this will throw the offset out 1/4-3/8" because of the thickness of the vette rotor
the vette brakes are pretty cheap even new
My friend did this on his car and he loves it.
