Brake Lines
Brake Lines
I have an 83 GS with an SE rear end and soon to be SE front suspension and brakes. I'd like to get a SS line set, but mazdatrix has a different set for 84-85 and 81-83. Do the lines have a different thread size/pitch? Is there a way around this without swapping the hardlines?
i'm not too sure about the threading or what not ... but I do know this ... you don't have to change all your lines, all that you would need to do if they're not the same size is change the coupler at the end of the line, all that you require to do is 2 things, a pipe cutter, and a flare tool(which can be rented out by a few places for free you will prob have to leave a deposit though.) This can be done without even fully removing your lines from their spot. I have an 84 GSL persoanlly, i bought some ss line for that, I can try to measure the pitch of them if you wish to compare to the pitch of your 83
pitch is diffrent, I had a donor car so it was cheaper to just swap master cylinder and hard lines, you could visit a hydraulic shop and see if they have an adapter for your couplins? <--(what I would do) just keep in mind its getting harder to find the older master cylinders so why not upgrade to the FB's? just my 2 cents
