Brake Line question.
Hi guys,
I've been working on my 1980 and I was replacing the driver's side rear wheel cylinder (the one with 2 brake lines), well the top line has been replaced and I think I need to replace the bottom. Basically when we went to screw the brake line in, the cylinder casting shattered into 3 pieces. This happened the last time, which is why I replaced the top line already.
The car is about 20 miles from where I am currently, and I'm heading there in the morning. I'd like to pick up the brake line I need tonight, anyone know how much (length) wise I will need to do that bottom line running into the cylinder?
If not, I can take it off tomorrow, just trying to make this quick & painless.
Here's a picture of what happened to the cylinder, luckily they are giving me a new one free:

If this is the bottom line that runs from the left wheel to the right wheel. IIRC autozone didnt sell the length I needed so I bought 25ft (room for error) of brake line and cut and bent my own peice. However I cant flare brake lines for the life of me. So i paid a shop 15$ to flare it for me.
So I think what you should do is get the longest peice of line with the flare ends on it already. which i think is lik 48" plus get a 12"-18" peice with the flared ends on it already. Then get the connector that joins 2 brake lines together. and you should be good to go.
enless just get like 72" of bare line and cut, bend and flare your own.
I think I may have the old line in my garage I can check the legnth for your later. Im not sure of the actual lengths of everything but you get the idea
