Brake lights not working.
Ok.. weird things have been happening.
A while ago my brake lights randomly stopped working. I figured it was the bulbs, replaced them, still nothing.
Checked the harness for power, nothing. Checked all the grounds and they look good. Then i did some research, Found out about the "Stop Light checker" relay pulled it out, tested it to see if it worked. Doesnt work.
But the weird thing is, before i found out about the stop lamp checker, the brake lights would sometimes work, and sometimes not. By that i mean, If i hit the pedal after not using the brakes for a short time, the lights would not light up, but if i hit the pedal a few times, the lights would work for about 4-5 pumps.
I think it's either the brake light switch, The Stop Lamp Checker, or a ground im missing somewhere. If someone could direct me to a place that i could order the stop lamp checker from, that would be greatly appreciated, as I cannot find a place my self. I have not yet gone to mazda because i am terrified at what they will charge me.
Thanks in advance, Colby.
EDIT: The relay i pulled from the car has the following markings.
One side of the relay says:
BA01
RELAY-
CHECK
LAMP
12V27Wx4
Next side says:
2F17
Next side says(believe this is the part #):
A BA01 67 660
not sure if that info will help at all..

update with a new issue here..
When i hit the brake pedal and the engine is at less than 3000rpm, the stop lamp light on the dash appears. not sure why it would do that, i checked my bulbs again and they are not burnt out.

took a video of the problem after cleaning up the grounds and such. thinking it has to do with the alt.
heres the video, you can see that it kind of pulses and fades in and out. It's weird..
