Brake Help!

Hey all, I'm trying to put new pads on my rear wheels. How do I disconnect the ebrake cable from the caliper? there appears to be a rusted in place washer that prevents me from pulling the cable far enough forward to slide it out of the catch. Any ideas anyone who has done this before can throw at me would be much appreciated. thx.

Free up the rusted in place washer that prevents you from pulling the cable far enough forward to slide it out of the catch.

Turn the nut to give you some slack. Compress the park brake part of the caliper and use vice grips to turn the cable and pull it out enough to go around.

You can also use the adjuster in the cab to let some slack in if you need to.
