boost prep a Holley? and fuel question

Does anyone know if you need to boost prep a RB Holley 465? If so, do you know who can do it? I'm probably going turbo once I get the 68k mile motor I just bought rebuilt and ported. I'm thinking street port with a FMIC and blow through.

Also, will the Holley Blue pump be sufficient once the carb is re-jetted? -6 lines running from pump to FPR, then 5/16th line running from the FPR to the carb becasue I can't find anything to let me hook up A/N lines to the 465. I'm either going to go with a TII mani and S5 turbo, or go all out with a T04R (used, of corse), running 10-15psi. I don't think that the Blue will be able to keep up, but i'm not sure. the pump will flow 88gph at 9psi, I only need 6psi for the carb.

that pump will not work for a boosted application, you need a 1:1 ratio boost reference fpr, and the you will need an efi inline pump with higher pressure, but more importantly, more volume, i suggest a walbro 255, and you do need to boost prep a holley, but its not that difficult if yuou mechanically inclined.

Not true. Ive never heard of a carb running more that 9psi. Any fuel injection pump runs around the 40 psi mark, and will blow out the seal in your carb. What ever you do, dont try to regulate it down, as it will kill the pump.

Ok first off the holley blue sucks. Ok you need a boost referenced FPR like Perfect Circle said. The added pressure will not blow out the seals in the carb as long as you boost prep it as you will only be boosting the fuel pressure at the same rate as the turbo boost, if you don't you will lean out your engine and you don't want that. Good luck do alittle more research the SEARCH button is your freind.

Blowthru carbs have been around a long while. Properly prepped, they will handle the boost. As far as the pump, using a Mallory 4309 fpr works fine with an efi pump. It is a return style and a rising rate fpr.

Not if he is boosting. Efi pump is the safest way to go when boosting.
