Bolt-on Big brake kit... Who has the best for the FB/SA?

Thought I had read there was a simple kit with a bracket that allowed the large 4 piston FC brakes to be bolted on the FB? Not able to find it at the moment...?

Any advise on a cheap solution to improve the front brakes a ton would be appreciated.

This is for a drag setup. Mainly looking to be on the brakes HARD for a brief time slowing down from 150-170 in a shot period of time. No road racing etc...

The car is actually an SA and I'm using SA struts and brakes with drilled/slotted disks and hawk HPS pads. After jumping on the brakes hard they tend to fade a bit after 1-2 seconds of constant pressure. The car just doesn't slow down fast enough for me to be comfortable with it at the speeds I want to push it to.

I'm assuming I'll have to upgrade to FB struts first? Any info appreciated....

Thanks

You're probably thinking of the Re-speed kit, which indeed was a good bolt on kit. However it seems that Sam, who owns the company has checked out and isn't replying to emails or filling orders etc.

There may be other options but I'm not aware of them

i see a lot of JDM cars with T2 brake swaps, but no kits, so it can't be that hard to do.

some cars use the GSL-SE rotor and FC turbo caliper too

I have the complete Re-Speed BBK (front and rear) new in the box if you want to take a trip to KC to take some measurements and see if the kit can be replicated. You would need to change the front strut to the bigger spindle size. Any 84/85 should work. No, I don't want to sell it. Re-Speed had a group buy over a year ago for $250.

Another alternative is to go with KC Raceware hubs and rotors and SE calipers, the rotors are much bigger than the SA units so they will give much more stopping power before fading, should be sufficient for one stop, even from very high speed, it will all bolt on to SE struts/spindles. Here is their website:

KC Raceware

(scroll down the page) When you call ask for Charles, he is very knowledgable when it comes to brakes.

I used some of their stuff for my setup, here is a write up:

If you use the stock SE Calipers you will not have to modify anything, it all bolts right up, and you can specify the bolt pattern you want to use, which will make it easy to find lightweight drag wheels.

One more thought, switching to the big bearing struts will give you about an inch additional suspension travel, usefull for launching a drag car I would suspect.

Thats pretty slick. Will the stock SE calipers bolt on an SA strut? Or do I still need to switch over to the 85+ struts? I managed to find race wheels for my current SA wheel pattern. Running a 9" ford 5 lug in the rear.

Thanks!

Nope, you will have to switch to the 84-85 struts.
