Bogs/dies when comingto a stop

When i press the brake in it bogs the car down/dies (sometimes). What controls the RPMs coming back down to idel? after it bogd down to 500 or so some times it goes back up to 1,000 (i know it should be 750 but oh well) most the time it bogs down and dies.

try adjusting the idle screw ... Looking at the carb from the driver side, where the throttle cable and choke cable is, look under there and you will see a screw with a + head on there, you can use a long flat head to access it, turn it in about 1/2 a turn to the righ and see if that works, also you can try adjusting the mixture screw with is also on the same side, but its more towards the bottom middle of the carb

Does it surge and miss when you lift off the throttle or when holding a constant throttle.
