Hello, i'm new to this forum, and new to Rx-7's, i just bought an 84 Rx-7 GS for $500 and the motor wont run.

it cranks, and it has spark, it has fuel in the tank and air is able to get to the engine.

the guy said he took it to the shop to get the AC redone, and one of the water hoses blew and it overheated pretty bad. he fixed the hose and refilled it with water of course, then he took it to school(where it currently is, until wednesday) and it wouldnt start after that. i took out one of the spark plugs and it had water on it(i couldnt smell fuel, so i'm assuming its water) and rust(the car has been sitting since december).

any help would be great. i plan on replacing the motor in the next couple months.

do you guys think the engine melted and now its a boat anchor or is it salvage able???

with water getting into the combustion chamber, it's definately the water seals, either way it needs a rebuild. u wont know til u get it apart if it's salvagable, more than likely, it is.
