block off plates didnt help!

ok, well i have been having this bad idle problem for almost a month now. i have new ngk br8eq14's, cap, rotor, wires, and last night i blocked off my acv finally. well, it idled normal for about 10 seconds! AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plus, since yesterday morning the idle has gotten even worse! could a clogged fuel filter have something to do with this? when i drive it still pulls normal! just as fast as it has been! BLARRRG!

check to make sure you sealed that block off plate really well.

When I installed my exhaust, the car idled like ****.

Use a ton of sealer and let it sit for at least a few hours before you drive it.

And if you do'nt know the last time the fuel filter was changed change it, it can tear up your pump. I'm amazed my pump still worked.

I always make a gasket out of some paper gasket material for that very reason. And, I use a thin layer of Form-a-gasket on both sides. Haven't had one leak yet.
I doubt that it's a fuel filter. Sometimes a little grain of dirt gets stuck in the idle jet. I'd screw the idle screw(s) all the way in, counting the number of turns, then remove them and squirt a little Berryman B-12 right in the hole(s). That is, if sealing the block-off plate doesn't work. Just a thought.

awesome, i'll give all that shot. i'm gonna run to the 24 hour autozone and get some gasket paper. hahaha, i knew i should have done this the first time. OH WELL! BLAAARRRG! thx guys, i'll let you know what happens! OH YEA, do you guys block off that stupid hanging tube that i think went to the cats? it's that metal piece that goes downward towards the ground and its located near the back of the acv? or does it not do anything? hahaha

Well you said it in your first post, 10 seconds, then vacuum leak returns again. Do what they said about the gasket. You got a 24hr autozone? you lucky bastard! I block that port too, cant remember why. Did you see our tutorial?
