block heaters

well we all know winter is coming and my 7 hates being cold started does anyone have a block heater they use. im asking because i got ont off of one of my other non running 7 that was raced and installed it today on my DD 7 snd when i plugged it in the little coil that wraps around the plugs was red hot is this suppose to happen?

Yup, the block heater is supposed to turn red hot.....atleast mine did
