Angry Blinker problems

I did a search, and couldn't turn up anything. When I try to turn on the blinker it doesn't turn on, but a rapid clicking noise comes from somewhere under the dash. The dash blinker lights don't come on either. Is this the sign of a bad flasher unit? Could it be merely a bad ground? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
John

More likely that one of the turn signal bulbs is out, but could be a bad flasher unit.

If both blinkers don't work, is not the bulbs. Do the hazards work?

Flasher relay, should be available at any parts store.

I didn't check the hazards, I will try that later.

This is what I was thinking. Can anybody confirm this? Has this happened to anyone else? I just spent $130 on replacing a good fuel pump because of a ground.

Keep the ideas coming. Thanks for all of the help so far.

It could be the flasher, or it could be a bad connection. That's why we need to know if the hazards work. Then we can narrow it down.

Flaser relays are like $10 TOPS and fairly universal and returnable. For $10 you can decide if its a relay and save yourself hours of hunting a bad ground, of course thats coming from someone who HATES dealing with car electrical.

Man, have you checked the blinker fluid yet? And if your headlights are getting dim you might as well top off that fluid as well.
