Bit confused about Webers IDF vs IDA.
I'm looking into a set of Webers for my stock 12A. I ran into this but some one told me that IDF are smaller than IDA and will not work on a stock 12A. From my understanding is the difference between IDF and IDA is that IDF have a choke.
I know I need the Racing Beat manifold to mount it.

Well, there are a number of physical differences, but you can get IDA and IDF carbs both up to 48mm, which will feed nearly anything. The bolt patterns are reversed, though, and with different spacing so an IDA and IDF can't be bolted to the same manifold. You're right though that IDF has an enrichening choke which the IDA doesn't have.
Have you considered a modified 4 barrel Nikki carb? You can use the stock intake manifold, which will save you some money, and they are a bit more "driveable" since moderate throttle is handled by the smaller primary barrels. I've been using a Sterling carb for years and love it. You can check out my videos in my signature to get an idea of the performance and throttle response.
Sterling's site is www.sterlingmetalworks.com
Not saying you shouldn't go with something else (to each his own), but just thought I'd mention it for your consideration.
Good luck with your modding.

^ Thanks for your input. I have been all over that site to tune my Nikki but in reality I'm looking for simplification and performance. I have 3 Nikkis in my garage and none of them are any good. So I gave up on them and going to get what I was planning on getting anyways, just sooner than expected.
I might be going with Rotary Shack 45 OER kit fully jetted with oil injection and brake booster vacuum nipple.

Carter makes a good electric fuel pump. Get the 72gph, that should be plenty. You'll also need a good fuel pressure regulator (I just got a holley, and its ayt), and a fpr gauge. The one RE-Speed sells is expensive, but by far the best I've come across. should set you back less than $200 for everything.
Check the archive. I did a full writeup on the holley fuel pump/fuel pressure regulator installation.
And yeah, any fuel pressure gauge is worthless unless it can read accurately at our very low pressures. The only one I know of that can do that is the Respeed gauge, which I believe runs about 50 bucks.
