a big thanks to my old man

I was thinking the other day how much help he has actually given me with my various projects over the years. my SA sat in his factory for 2 years in parts while i waited for parts/monetary funds to become available, hes wangled me 2 full body resprays for free to date through his network of friends, including a 6m long plymouth wagon (thats alotta time & paint!) and my SA.

whenever ive needed advice hes been there with the answers or helped me find the solution. if i cant find the last nut that needs undoing he'll be there for hours till he finds where it is. he helped me do ~$5000+ worth of repairs to my plymouth fury hearse including rust removal and panel repair, new lick of paint and new wheels/tyres. hes always willing to talk about any aspect of cars and racing and is always open to new perspectives.

so for all the help, advice, support, storage space, tool usage and just being a good dad. i wanna give a big thanks.

10 years ago when i was in school the wankel gave out - and my old man had it towed 250 miles and paid for a junkyard installed engine - that was pretty sweet - i thought it was a gonner.

This seems to be a rare occurrence...appreciation. Too many people just want to bitch and complain about what they don't have or don't like. Thanks for the nice words about someone that has helped you out...I hope you have told him this!

Excellent post....it's always great to see when someone acknowledges those who've helped them in so many immeasurable ways. As someone who recently lost his father, my only suggestion is to make sure you've told him directly how much you appreciate him. Cheers. Kevin
