Holy **** is all I can say. Seeing a PAIR of front Koni's shipped to my door for under 100 bucks brought about the quickest impulse buy I have had in years!

CANNOT WAIT TO GET THEM AND PUT THEM ON!!!!!

That's what I'm afraid of For me, the Tokicos or KYBs seem to be a good choice for shocks, but for springs, I think I'll go with Suspension Techniques.

I have the same setup as onepointone and I'd have to say that it's tight but not tiring. It's good for spirited street driving but is also comfortable for long distance highway cruising. I guess I'm trying to say that it's provides a good balance between performance and comfort. I'm very happy with my setup.

i love my setup.. i wouldnt have it any other way.. now i just want a strut tower back and a racing beat sway bar, and a bushing set.. then im straight. i took it for a 30 minute drive down the highway the other day, and i didnt really notice all the bumps.

I just replaced my stock ones with Tokico blues at 87700 miles, and it makes a world of difference. The only complaint I have is that they seem to be a little rough over very crappy roads (or weird harmonic oscilation sections of road).

you can go to mazdatrix.com and they will provide different spring rates. i like the eibach springs personally, but then, ive never ridden on anything else.

What do you guys recommend I replace the rear bushings with: polyurethane or rubber? I'm using the car to commute 90 miles per day - mostly highway, but I do like to take "spirited drives" every once in a while. So basically, I'm looking for something that will give a smooth comfortable ride.

You've got 2537 posts so far and haven't figured this out yet?

Rubber. The rear axle is inflexible enough without urethane bushings.

Great! I guess I'll have to call Mazda for these.

Why? Dont replace them. They are bonded onto the links anyway. The older and softer, the better. If yours are that bad, get some used links.

Thanks for pointing that out carl. I didn't know that new ones came with new rubber - I thought that was an added cost.

I had Tokico blues, RB springs, all poly bushings. It was quite rough for the first 1-2k miles until the suspension loosened up. After that it was, IMO, a great balance between handling and ride for spirited street driving.

I drove a stock FB after driving my modded one for several months. I was shocked at the differance. It rode very smooth, but when we went for a little spirited drive on a back road it felt like a wallowing, diving, and just plain sloppy pig.
