Best Glass Sunroof Shipping Method

Just wondering who has shipped a glass sunroof, who they used, best way to pack it, things to avoid, etc. Any help is appreciated.

Yep FEDEX GROUND is the cheapest and safest. Make sure you put "FRAGILE GLASS" on the box. Ive shipped about 5 moonroofs total all with no problems. Carl

FEDEX Ground all the way! Make sure you insure it. Make sure you get the corners protected so they won't chip. Since the glass is slightly curved, I put foam in the middle.

You guys are out of your minds... DHL blows Fedex away for transit time and cost... And I've never had them damage anything that wasn't basically my fault...

+1 i freakin hate usps. always such a hassle to deal with them and when the est shipping time is 7-9 days it comes on the 9th day. fedex is #1 on my list, then ups, then dhl. these three update tracking info pretty fast and i know ups and fedex provide free tracking # and insurance up to $100 (for ups at least) and they all deliver usually ahead of schedule. i had standard shipping that arrives in 5-7 days than the 3 day shipping for extra costs. and the standard shipping arrived in 3 days. since i was anxious i was tempted to pay a little more for 3 days.. good thing i didnt spend unnecessary money. yep some of my experiences with these shippers..

oh yes usps has broken some of my items and damaged them too. i have an insurance claim being filed right now and im still waiting to get my check in my mail and its been about almost a month or something. i only trust usps with my letter mails.

^^^^hahah what happend with you and the and the US post office.

As long as you pack the roof correctly the post office is fine I have shipped 5 throught the USPS and 2 in the same box to Austrailia through FedEx. If you can keep the box with in 37''x27''x7 and package the glass in bubble wrap+foam penuts and a very strong cardbord box. you can ship it for about $30 throught priority mail through the post office and it will get there in 3 days.

Northern Cali, Pinole abouit 5-10 minutes from Richmond where do you live.

But yeah it does suck to file a claim through the post office. lol
But UPS will grill you too if it looks like you did not package the item up to there standards. If I am shipping something that is breakable I package it to the point where I can through it about 5 feet a eye level and not have it break. Better safe then sorry.
