Question Belt troubles

Alright, I wish I had a camera so I could take a picture of the belt but let me explain: I have an 82 GS with the rats nest removed. The belt used to turn the water pump( a 3L220 belt) broke after about 800 miles . The wear is grossly uneven and it caused 3 thin spots to appear on the underside of the belt, one of which eventually broke it. I was told by my father that it is because one of the pulleys is bent/misaligned. None of the other belts(alt and a/c) show any kind of wear. So I guess my questiona are: 1 is it the pulley and 2 where could I get a new water pump pulley? Thanks for any help.

Assuming that you have removed the air pump, and i am guessing the belt # you posted is the yoohoo belt, are the thin spots even on both side of the belt, or just one?

If the wear is even on both sides, the belt is slipping, if the wear is only on one side, it may be the pulley.

Instead of replacing the wp pulley, if wear is even on both sides, install a dual belt pulley on the alt.

The mulit rib kit combined with a goodyear gatorback belt would work great.
