Thumbs up Been Gone a while..What am i doing?

I've been on about a 6 month hiatus since selling my 85 gsl, that car really broke me, I spent 5 years getting that car ready to race and then finnally gave up and sold it. So i still had my 85 base model and mt 81 junk pile and my 87 daily/ autocrosser. Well i gave up on the first gens for about a 3-4 month period and totally left them to rot. Well about 2 month's ago i got the bug and went back to work on the 85 base autocrossing MONSTER! I pulled the 13B out of my 86 (no tiltle) gxl and got ready to install it into the 85. I figured while i have the motor out I might as well sandblast and sand and paint the engine compartment. So i did, i removed EVERYTHING and went to town on the engine compartment. I will post pictures of my progress soon. While the engine is out i am painting it "aluminum" and black for the irons. I am leaving the tranny from the 12A in the car and mating it up to the 13B block which should provide better acceleration. The interior is stripped all the way and is also recieving the black paint treatment. I am selling my 87 SE in order to gain some more funds for the suspension work and roll cage. It feels good to be back in the swing of things with you first gen guys....This truley is where my heart is...

Thumbs up

Nothing feels better than when you've got the rotary bug and everything's going right. I've been working on restoring my 85 GS for a little over a year now and I can finally start to say that things are in the right direction. The car is really starting to come around and I feel like I'm in total control of the restoration... congrats on your new found vigor and good luck!
