Beehive coolant hoses

Ok, so im pullin off the ol beehive oil cooler to replace the O rings, but while Im in there I figure I should probably swap out the coolant hoses as well.

My question is, the factory hoses have some crazy foam covering on them.. Do I need to buy the factory style hoses, or could I just run out and grab a length of heater hose, and cut them to length myself? I dont see why not but Im just wondering..
Also, what diameter hose should I grab to do the job if that will work??

You can use regular heater hose if you can route it correctly. If you take it to a Napa they usually have heater hoses with 90 deg bends on them. On the size just take the old one with you.

Yah, I was gonna do that, but the old hoses are just so covered in oil gunk that I was hoping I could just toss em.
I am prety sure the hose is like 5/8" or something, but Im not sure. I guess Ill just clean up the old crap hoses, or find old ones in the basement to take in.
