FL Bearings for FC hub conversion

I've seen many threads on switching from FB to FC rotors and brakes, but I don't see anything about bearings.

Where do I source inner and outer bearings?
Do I need a custom inner race or spacer?

I currently have
87GXL calipers and lines
84-85 Struts/Spindles
My stock SA22 brake setup

Need to makes caliper brackets.

Any links to specific dimensions on custom brackets etc would be greatly appreciated.
(I've seen some pictures of custom made ones, re-speed is out of the question)

To install FC hubs on an 84-85 FB spindle you need a bearing spacer that makes up for the difference in size between the FB and the FC inner bearing - the FC inner bearigs are bigger. Outer bearings for an 84-85 and an FC are the same part number.

The RE Speed kit (I have one) consists of the bearing spacer and a caliper bracket. Once the spacer is installed on the FB spindle the FC hub can be installed using OE FC bearings. I bought my kit before the ownership change. The spacer could be replicated by a qualified machinest but it was beyond the capabilities of the lathe that I have access to. The spacer has a very smooth finish.

An alternative to the RE Speed kit would be the brake kit that KC Raceware makes - www.kcraceware.com The KC Raceware kit consists of an aluminum hub that fits an 84-85 spindle using OE FB bearings and inner seals and a bolt on rotor that is the same size as a GSL/SE rotor. As a result it also uses the stock GSL/SE caliper and bracketry. Larger rotors could be installed on the hub as long as custom caliper brackets are fabricated

Here is the adapter installed on my spindle

I'm also in the process of doing a big brake setup, but I will have a local machinist make my adatapters for me...not cheap but with respeed being unreliable its probably my best option. I do have another idea but its probably stupid and won't work so ill fill you in after I try it

thank you. and thanks for the photo explanation.

I was pretty sure this was the case, but it's nice to get and see confirmation.
