Battery tiedown

How do the stock battery tiedown's look. Could I just run a long bolt from the battery tray to an aluminium plate mounted on top? Right now I am using a bungee cord and I don't think that will pass autox inspection.

there is a hole in the side sheet metal of the radiator "box". a rod fits in there, goes across the battery and is then tightened down with a long bolt.
