battery drain ?

Ok, I finally think I have found the drain on my battery.
I looked everywhere. What was confusing me was when I put a multimeter on the battery cables I was getting a major drain. Like to the tune of 10a. I pulled every fuse and disconnected the alternator. No luck. So, starting at the beginning (the battery), I figured I would trace the wiring to the fuse box. Obviously, the drain was before that. Well I have my CD head unit wired directly from the battery. I pulled that wire off the positive cable and no more drain. I put the tester on that wire and I have the huge amp drain.

So the question is now, what could cause that kind of drain from the head unit? Could it be a weak ground. I had some problems with that when I first installed it. Or, worse, would it be in the unit itself?

are you sure the unit is off when the car is off??? Thats the only reason I can think of that it would be pulling power, any lights or anything on it...

Memory:
Most Head Units use a small amount of power to keep the Clock and PreSet Stations in Memory. Thats why there are 2 wires for power.
1=Ignition
2=Battery ie for Memory.
However I doupt that this function needs 10Amps of Power.
If you still have the Manual that came with the unit there should be a Spec Chart that will show the Always on Power Draw.
Just throwin this one in!!!
