battery cable question

I am installing a new positive battery cable. I went to autozone and i got the battery and when i got home i looked at it and i am trying to figure out what the little wire is,Its about 6 inches and has a yellow cap on the end.I read the instructions and i think it says its a fusible link but someone else said it may be a ground.Im confused as to what to do with this and if anyone could help me out that would be great. Also, is there an oline video or manual that teaches you how to install the new cables?I have never done anything like this so im not exactly sure how.
Thanks,
Aaron

Call around and find a place that will crimp on a new terminal. They will cut the terminal off and crimp both wires into a new one. I would go to a place that sells just batteries or that does automotive electrical work. The guys at autofucks will put one of those cheap replacements that pinch your cable into the terminal with bolts, you don't want that.

Always remember with new or used terminals, lead stretches easily, this is why a lot of terminals are hard to tighten. If you tighten the terminal just enough to secure it to the post they will last a very long time.

if there's two wires the big one goes to the starter and the small one goes to the fuseable links

Yes, but obviously the short lead won't reach all the way. You'll need some additional wire.
