Bar's leak

Hey guys... i have a radiator with a pressure problem... sometimes it leaks just a little and my first impulse is to dump some Bar's Leak in there.... however, i'm not sure if this is a safe thing for rotarys? Just want to check before i screw up my Daily Driver lol

I probably wouldn't do it, but it's been around forever and I know too many people that have used the stuff and swear it works with no permanent harm, but... ... you know ?

I know what you mean. I've had a bottle of the stuff sitting around here for a couple months and still haven't used it, just incase. I can deal with the little leaks until the new radiator is put in.

thats what ive been doing but lateley with it getting colder... i notice the car gets really hot when warming up, like almost into the red, then all of a sudden goes to normal operating temp. I think its just having trouble getting pressure untill it gets hot... tonight i even saw a puff of smoke/steam come from my hood right before it went down to normal temp.

sure it isn't your t-stat giving you troubles then as well?

Sounds like it isn't opening at the right temp.

I don't think I'd use the stop-leak. Take the radiator to a radiator shop. They usually can fix it pretty cheap. Just make sure you go to a reputable one.
