bad aceleration

My car will run and go but clims very slow. It's a 12a stock everthing except magnaflow exuist. It revs to 7000 but very slow and top speed is about 60 miles an hour need help fast. thanks in advance

It probably is the cat. I had an 83 LE with a similar problem. I got ok revs to about 6200 rpm and then power started to fall off. If you're in an area that requires emissions testing, go to a junk yard and get a cat and resonator (the chamber before the cat). It's ok if they're trashed. I took mine to a local muffler shop. With the cat and resonator bolted together, I had them chop the resonator flange and the cat flange and section in a piece of straight pipe for "test" purposes. I put the pipe in place of the cat and resonator and the car pulled hard up to 8200 rpm. That's where I chickened out ... the car had 195,000 miles on it!
If you will have to pass emissions, you'll have to get a new cat. Otherwise, leave the straight pipe in.

is it hard to take off the cat do I have to weld the stright pipe on. Will this increase or decrese back pressure. what if it's not that cat then what could it be

its easy to take off the cat. just unbolt it. you dont have to spend the $ for a straight pipe, you can gut the cat with a big screwdriver.
