back off shudder
back off shudder
flooring it into 4th yesterday- 3750 rpm, miss daisy pulled out of a side street and was about 500m away doing about 10kph when i thought of slowing up, so i backed off the gas in 4th and the whole drive train started this shuddering thing-into neutral and it went down to idol, blipping the gas i threw 3rd as space between me and miss daisy was running out, a few cackels from my sweet custom ss exhaust and shudder again! by now i notice the old chooks eyes in her rear view looking at a rx7 fly right up her ***- mind you she is now doing less speed( slower than the speedo can read ) so into second to let the oncomming traffic go the shudder is there too, i'm so sure this is a gearbox prob, anywho
a break in traffic- i load up my clutch and let my lightend flywheel have it to get this old bat outa the way, it's funny the look on people's face when you overtake them sideways, so the thing is, will my engine do this shudder thing because or bearing failur or is it a prob in the box (fingers crossed for the box being rooted)
hanks for any help

mounte for the box and eng are new, it's not the tyres loosing traction it is a lashing shudder that only happens on de-celleration when in gear. the drive train is ALL new except for the box. thats why i think it's the motor or box or counterweight or something that can go off balance- it doesn't feel like gearbox bearing though maby input shaft.
when my wheels skip i know about it, it aint no compression locking.

I've lived with the shudder for some time now. I'd love to get rid of it!
In my case it hits when my foot is off of the pedal at low rpm's... such as when coasting or slowing down. If I keep the carb open even slightly, it disapears. Really painful watching as the emmisions-test-guy ran my car on the treadmill!
oh, mine's an '82 n/a, btw
