It popped up on www.teamfc3s.org and on the mazspeed forums a little while ago. The car is swedish and the motor is insane. No details, unfortunately. I do have a couple videos of it however. It's won quite a few races from what I've briefly gathered from the owner's website: http://w1.314.telia.com/~u31430971/docs/Mohlin.html
Enjoy everyone!

says right on the video, in the first few minutes that it has a P-Port 13B in it, but that's all I can get out of it
Maybe someone can get the page translated?

Looks like BIG fun. Appears to be running on a runway with some cones to slow things down a bit. Wow. Would like to know what all that information is that's running across the screen.

Mikael Mohlin + Mazda RX7 = an unbeatable combination?
In the 2002 and 2003 season, Mikael Mohlin from Kungsälv just outside Göteborg raced a modified RX-7 in Norway. The car had a bit of racing history, since both Henrik Rosencrantz and Jan Walter has won the Etab Data Cup in Sweden with it.
After Mikael and his father Björn Mohlin got their hands on it, the car has been modified a bit more. It's now a fullblood trackcar. The 2002 season was raced in Norway since no class in sweden suited the car that year. In return they did great, with a 3. place in the Norwegian Special Saloon Group A, under 2500ccm Championship. A TV-production shows how Mikael takes the 1. place in a heat, when even the cars in a bigger class, with twice the power stays behind.
2003
In the 2003 season Mikael has raced and won in the Norwegian Special Saloon and Nordic Thundercars, these races are broadcastet on the Viasat Sport satelitte channel during the summer. The production company got more and more interessted in Mikael and his little Mazda, and that is understandable, as he dominated the class under 2500ccm. And if thats not enough he outrun most of the cars in the class over 2500ccm. At a couple of instances he was the first over the line, and the drivers in the bigger classes had to learn that bigger isnt always the best. When we look at the results for the season, we can note that Mikael won the series overall. We can only congratulate Team Mohlin with their achievement and hope that they choose to defend their posistion next year. Rumours says that the car is for sale, because their target was to win and there's no challenge left.
Driver: Mikael Mohlin
Age: 31
Club: Bohus RC

Team bossf: Björn Mohlin
Location: Kungälv, Sverige
Sponsor: ----- none - please mail me suggestions
Startnumber: 7
Manufacturer: Mazda RX-7 Mk1
Raceweight: 990kg
Engine: Mazda 13B (wankel)
Displacement: 1308ccX1.8=2354cc 1.8 is a factor for deciding how much weight to add in rotary-powered cars.
Power: 290hk
Then there are some results from different races.
The winning engine in the winning car.
The engine is built on Mazda Factory Race peripheral ported housing with race rotors. Oiling is done with the MFR dry-sump unit, the best and most reliable system you can use. Flywheel is also MFR item with a Sachs 184mm clutch. Equipment around the engine is among other things Prospark ignition and Kügelfischer mechanical fuel injection. Everything regarding tuning and maintaince on the engine is being done by Jörgen Blennow, which after a lot of wrenching and competing with rotaries has full knowledge on how to build a winning engine. Porting a rotary can look almost like porting a two-stroke moped engine. In the real world it's a bit more complex. Jörgen has the experience to build an engine while keeping good power, good torque, good reliability and staying under the class' rules. The biggest drama in the pit is the mechanics popping the hood and checking the oil level. Gearbox is a 5-speed Mazda Competition assembly.
And then there's the rest of the results.. I wont bother writing all of that. If there's something I didnt get understandable, please tell me and I'll try again. Neiter swedish og english is my native language
Regards,
Frode

Yeah, what's with you guys being against big wings on race cars? Do you all forget where the ricey big wings originated? Race cars, that's where. Go watch some hillclimb videos and tell me that the longtail wing on the Audi S1 doesn't looking effin cool.

If Magnus sees this thread, I'll bet he knows something about that car. He's heavily into the Swedish rotary scene. I'll drop him a PM and see if he can tell us what he knows about it.
By the way, that is one awesome rex. I'd consider trading my SE for it straight up
And, Timmy, the wing on that thing is functional. On a street machine, it'd be pure rice and the definiton of "overkill", but on a race car, it's needed...
