auto to manual starter wiring

I just put the motor and tranny from my 84 Manual into the body (and wiring harness) of my 83 auto. I'm trying to start the engine, but I cant figure out how to wire the starter so that it will turn over. Electronics has always been my weak point. Please halp, I wanna get this on the road this weekend.

Easiest way is to unplug the X-09 connector from the automatic car and replace it with the X-09 connector from the manual car.

To be honest, the only thing the starter gets from the ignition to tell it to start is the B/Y wire through X-09 to the solenoid.

Based on the wiring diagram, can you tell us the connector?

It's these 2 connectors up by the hot start motor. I can't read wiring diagrams well. The 6-pin connector plugs in but the auto harness has a small 1-pin connector there where the manual has a bigger connector there (also with a much smaller gauge wire attached.

I think it's the x-10 and x-01 connectors

Put a new starter in today. Turned the key and... Click. I've been over my grounds 20 times and tried jumping it. I'm running out of ideas.

Did you added the clutch switch on the pedal?

No I sure didn't. I didn't think that could do it as it's the auto wiring harness.

Can't speak for the 1983, but the 1984/1985 dash wiring harness is the same for auto and manual. After adding the clutch pedal, it requires the correct clutch switches to be installed.
