ATTN: -se turboed guys

hey guys i was wondering what kind of problems you guys ran into when turboing the 6port motor, i was wanting to get some decent power out of the 84 se, but i heard that it was a PITA because of the secondary 5 and 6 ports?any help would be greatly appreciated

a new approach

ok guys do you know if the s4 turbo manifold will bolt up to the fb 6 port motor, i would think it would fit, but i wanna make sure before i buy it....

thanks man i was starting to wonder if anyone was going to answer that thread, that second link was a badass writeup. thanks for helping me out, my 84 is gonna be my daily driver and i just need a little more power.

Why is that? does the compressor or turbin housing hit the lower intake manifold?


Thats the only thing i could think of causing a problem.


But you are still going to have plumbing issues. (oil/water)



Easier is to buy a S4 or S5 TII motor, use a GSL-SE oilpan and front cover. Make your own oil return and bolt it in.. (you either have to change out the flywheel/clutch too or use a tII tranny)



Thats what i did with mine. I even used a TII tranny with a little bit of work and a custom tranny mount and driveshaft.

the manifold itself will not bolt to the -se motor, let alone the turbo clear the LIM, but i have in store a solution, should be soon...
