Atkins rebuild vid

OK, just got done watching about half of the Atkins 13b rotary rebuild video and I would have to say it is great overall.

The production quaility leaves a lot to be desired.

But the info and tips are tremendous. Every one who doesn't rebuild these things once a week should have this vid.

I will give all my final analysis after I actually rebuild my motor.

I have a 12A, and I'm pretty sure that there is no video explaining the rebuild process of that engine. Would the 13B engine rebuild video be informative enough so that it can aide me at rebuilding my 12A?

It should, since the differences internal differences are minimal.

The video is something like $15. I mean come on. You want to keep the rotary alive but you won't spend $15 on it.... Man I feel sorry for your cars..

I will not condone the ripping of this vid. Atkins did a ton of work to put out this thing and deserve to be paid for it. They put this vid out as a service to the seven world. They could have just kept right on selling parts and motors to folks, but they made a video for us and should be thanked. We should all support these people by PURCHASING this video. So maybe they will make other vids. (I.e. 12a porting, How to rebuild your tranny, etc.) If we all just pass around copies of this thing they will not make any money off the vid and will not even think about making any more.

Sorry about the rant but I have strong feelings about this.

My morals say Im with ya, but my pocket book says I'm not...Anyway, I promise, I will not personally rip the vid, but if I happen to come across it (NOT by intentionally looking for it), I didnt promise I wouldn't download it...But then again, I only have 56K, so I dont see it happening anytime soon, especially with only ONE phone line coming into my house, so I cant even use the phone while I'm online...

~T.J.

PS - If you look on the bright side, they had to buy it to rip it ...Sorry, couldnt resist...

With my DSL connection, I would Download it and watch it. If I like it, I will buy it because I'd like to be able to watch in higher resolution.

Just like the early DiVx movies on the net, most are a poor quality "preview". If the movie is good, then I'd buy the DVD when it comes out. Even if a DVD Rip of a movie is available, I'd still buy the movie.

If the Mp3 is good, then I'd buy the CD.

How many movies have you been to that you "threw away" your money because they sucked so bad?

This way you only buy what you know you will enjoy.
I am not saying the Rebuild Video is good OR bad, I just want my money's worth.

For what its worth, my 02 cents.

More ranting............

Do you guys also get friends to photocopy books, so you can preview them? And if you like purchase later in full resolution. What about magazines? I just feel that the abuse of some of these things is too rampant.

Yes I completely understand your point. I hate to give a multimillion dollar corporation who doesn't give a damn about me my hard earned money for a useless product (read bad movie).

But Atkins are not a multimillion dollar corporation, and they DO give a damn about us. So I say buy the vid, if you do not like it, sell it here, somebody else will use it.

......Rant mode off.

This is not the same as the Turrentine video at www.rotaryaviation.com - where can you get this $15 video (I will pay the $15).

Thanks,

I've done my fair share of bootlegging music, but I dont support riping the atkins video. I live just a half hour away from them, and I have been there a few times. Its a small company that is out there to help US, and made the video soley for US, and the thought of ripping that off makes me sick.
