ARRRRGGHHH!! Windshield trim!!

Well, I got the 12a blowthrough project on the road and running fairly well... that's the good news.

The bad news, is that while driving into work today the passenger side windshield trim blew off. Seeing as all of the upper trim was brand new when I painted the car about a year ago, and this will be the 3rd time I've replaced the passenger side, I'm looking for other options. I'd really prefer NOT to spend another $100 plus on a new passenger and center trim, plus getting it painted to match.

I was thinking about some of the rubber windshield surround that you see on more modern cars. But the drip moldings above the windows would likely need to be removed, since they tie into the upper trim.

Has anybody done this before or am i shooting in the dark?

passenger upper?

if the windshields been replaced, the moulding popping off probably means that the window isn't spaced from the body right. there is a measurement in the FSM, and there are a couple of $0.25 spacers that go on the body.

mine is F-ed up, i even explained everything to the guy, and he STILL screwed it up, so the windshield is too far out, and the moulding doesn't clip on correctly.

i'm sure people have done rubber surrounds, the example i can think of the RB GTO car, but they just did a bigger piece of plexiglass, which isn't an option in glassiglass.

I'm pretty sure the windshield is original... I know it hasn't been replaced since I've owned the car, which is about 6 or so years.

I'm thinking I can just use some of that rubber and use some 3M adhesive and glue it in... dunno.

Anybody got a passenger side upper trim piece they want to sell, before I give black dragon a hundred bucks? (I hate BD, such a rip-off)
